The most exciting Premiership transfer news • 15.06.16
If there’s one other place we’re used to hearing about big money then its football. With the Premier League season firmly over we’ve now entered the exciting transfer period. Will Leicester’s key players stay at the club? Can they be tempted away by Jose Mourinho? Whose performance at the Euros will earn them a big money deal? Here we’re bringing you the latest big money transfer news!
Many people were surprised when they heard that Arsene Wenger was interested in signing Leicester’s Jamie Vardy. But Vardy’s representatives have told him he must wait till after the European Championships before he either accepts or refuses the £20 million bid.
Whilst Vardy may be fully focused on helping England at the Euros, he must undoubtedly have this decision in the back of his mind.
After a poor season it seems as though Chelsea are ready to splash out and are looking to sign £24 million centre-back Kalidou Koulibaly. It’s not too surprising that Chelsea is willing to shell out such an amount for a defender as well as having plenty of other players in their sights.
With Leicester having an amazing season, many people are wondering whether they will be able to continue this form into the new season. They might struggle if the likes of Riyad Mahrez, who has refused to rule out the possibility of leaving Leicester this summer, do choose to go.
Mahrez has said he’d like to remain at the club but hasn’t guaranteed it is where he will remain, even though they have guaranteed themselves a Champions League entry.
So who is interested in the 25-year-old? Once again Arsenal are at the front of the line, alongside Manchester United and Barcelona. Each of these clubs has been linked with the PFA Player of the Year.
It looks set to be all change at Manchester United with Jose Mourinho bringing in a host of new players. The manager is battling Leicester City for the £25 million-rated Inter Milan defender Jeison Murillo. But with Real Madrid reportedly keeping an eye on the situation, who’s to say where the young player will end up.
